Baltimore/Washington International (BWI):

Access: Can get crowded especially early morning. Best to have Pre-check. CLEAR can be a savior too as Pre-check gets backed up too.

Daven: Terminal A-B – no clubs but can usually find an empty gate. Also, if you have time, usually lots of empty space in C.

Terminal D – Club Lounge (Priority Pass/Amex access or paid day pass). Not great privacy. Gate D1 is usually empty, or go down to D30 – always empty, not used.

Food: Standard airport stores. Natural Store by gate D6 has most selection of energy bars, seltzer and good coffee.

Showers: There is a spa that has shower suites near gate D3.


Buffalo, NY (BUF):

Access Information: Generally little traffic. One building airport - all walk-able.

Davening Locations: A brand new club opened in October 2019 called "TheClub" which accepts Priority Pass. This is the only club in the airport and is right after security.

Food: Like many airports - one can buy hard boiled eggs, chumus, etc. About 15 minutes away from the airport is Tops International (Nissin Kosher Deli)

Rental Car Information: National does not have an Emerald Aisle.

Comments: Gas station is 1 block past the airport. There is a barber right before security and another one right after security.

Denver International Airport (DEN):


Access: Takes at least 15 minutes from airport entrance to clear security and take trains to gates. Also, airport is far away from any other civilization. WATCH OUT for speed traps all around the airport – especially by rental returns.

Daven: United has great clubs in terminal B. Also, if you go to second floor mezzanine (above gate level), there is a free lounge area with private kiosks.

Food: Standard.

Rental Cars: Takes a while to get to rental cars. There is an [expensive] gas station right before rental return if you forget.


Yuma International Airport (YUM):


Note: Only flights currently are US Airways from PHX, El Centro Imperial County (IPL) and Makulele Air.

Daven: On second floor of terminal is a quiet lounge area.

Food: Limited.

Daven: Not much goes on so it’s usually pretty quiet.

Food: Nothing except a vending machine. OK station across the street.

Note you can not take drinks past security and no vending machine after.

Rental Cars: Avis and hertz onsite.


Charlotte (CLT):


Daven: AA hub, clubs are great and located throughout. IN the main club, go past the quiet room, there is an almost hidden work area (not a quiet area) that is usually empty.

Food: Standard

Rental cars: Now onsite and very quick. .


Los Angeles (LAX):


Access: ALWAYS under construction and traffic laden. Can take 45-60 just to get from rental car to terminal (especially if its terminal 4-8). If on a tight schedule, use cab or Uber. TIP: Can walk from Terminal 1 to any other terminal. Sometimes faster if you don’t have much to carry.

Daven: All terminals have clubs. Can usually find empty gate too. By United, gate 72 is great area if not in use. Also, the walkways connecting 6-7-8 are usually quieter. Terminal 6 is usually very busy. If you have time, the Pico area is only 20-25 min away.

Food: Coffee Bean in all terminals. Otherwise, standard.

Car rentals: All are pretty slow, plenty of gas stations on return.

Showers: None in 6-7-8


San Francisco (SFO):


Access: Large but very accessible. Traffic in area is usually heavy. Give yourself time. Quick monorail to/from rental cars. If running late to terminal 3, can get off at terminal A and walk across.

Daven: United has plenty of clubs. Also, many lounge areas that are empty or quiet throughout gate area. In G terminal (accessible from 3), the INTNL gates are great for privacy. Note: There is a TLV flight nightly at 9:30pm, can try for a minyan.

Food: Standard

Car Rental: 76 gas located off exit on rental return (from 101 S, turn right, from 101N, turn left).

Showers: Before security, by G terminal, there is a store called Freshen UP. $25 for a shower suite (but could be worth it after a long day).


Rochester (ROC):


Daven: Business center, located past security, is a fantastic place to daven/work. Private rooms.

Food: Standard snack choices.

Car Rental: Car rental onsite, quick access.


San Diego (SAN):


Daven: Besides clubs, try hallway by phone on left of escalator coming up from security. No great places to daven though.

Food: Standard food options, although La Jolla Ralphs is not far.

Rental Cars: Rental cars offsite, need shuttle.

Showers: No showers


Washington (DCA):


Access: Near downtown DC, tons of traffic during rush hour. Very accessible by train though.

Daven: Try clubs, United and AA. Terminal A - usually can find a open gate, many have secluded areas.

Terminal C - No great places to daven.

Food: Standard snack choices

Rental Cars: Rental cars onsite.

Showers: No Showers.


Virginia (IAD):


Access: Careful with Capitol Beltway traffic. Especially if returning a car. Pre-check and Clear upstairs, usually pretty quick. Airport is oversized and time to gets is unnecessarily long. Train is lots of walking or bus is slow. Need at least 20 minutes to gates. Multiple levels, can be confusing. Uber on middle level.

Daven: United Clubs throughout, other airlines in some terminals too. Usually will find empty gates too.

Food: Standard snack choices, although at one point, some places had sealed sandwiches from DC Vaad.

Rental Cars: Rental cars offsite – one bus pickup location at terminal.

Showers: Some clubs have showers (not United).


Manchester-Boston (MHT):


Daven: Granite Club near gate 5. Call phone next to door for free access. Just like a United Club.

Food: Standard snacks

Rental Cars: Easy access to rental cars onsite

Showers: No showers


Houston (IAH):


Access: Huge transfer airport. Train connects terminals. Many clubs. United in C are best for davening, with private kiosks (for now)

Food: CIBO express have many kosher yogurts and snacks (pareve).

Rental Cars: Rental cars offsite

Showers: Some clubs have showers.


Vancouver (YVR:)


Note: Flights departing after 8:30 pm have no us customs onsite.

Daven: Clubs in USA terminal E, close at 8. D concourse clubs open late.

Food: Standard snack choices

Rental Cars: Rental cars onsite, easy access and return.

Showers: Air Canada clubs have showers. B4 security, airport hotel has spa with showers for $20.


Dayton (DAY):


Access: Small airport, easy come/go.

Daven: Has free business center – exactly like a club except no food served or allowed except drinks.

Food: Standard snacks.

Rental Cars: Rental cars onsite, easy.

Showers: No showers.


Newark (EWR):


Access: Careful for traffic in area. Air Train access all parking, Amtrak, NJ Transit and rental cars. Breaks sometimes.

Daven: Various Clubs throughout. United Club by gate 121 is much bigger and better. Club by gate 82 not bad either though.

Food: CIBO Express have FRESKO sealed Kosher food. All are Pas Yisroel, NOT Yoshon.

Showers: Not sure with all changes.


Mexico City (MEX):


Access: Traffic in city can be horrendous. Gates require lots of time and walking.

Daven: Plenty of clubs and open gates usually. There is Avianca lounge right next to USA gates, closer than the other clubs, but no privacy in this lounge.

Food:Food is very limited, bring your own. Water and seltzer as well as Pepsi and Diet Pepsi (per Rabbi Charlop) and Coke and DC (per VKאא).

Showers: Some of the clubs have showers.
